Connect a client
Every client takes the same URL. There is no key to paste and no account to create: where a client asks how to authenticate, choose none.
URL
https://mcp.optimistfi.com/mcpClaude
OptimistFi is listed in Claude's connectors directory, one catalog for claude.ai, Claude Desktop, the mobile apps and Claude Code.
- Open the listing, or in Claude go to Customize, then Connectors, and search for OptimistFi.
- Connect it. No sign-in is asked for.
- In a conversation, turn it on from the tools menu.
To add it by URL instead, add a custom connector under Customize › Connectors and paste the URL above.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http optimistfi https://mcp.optimistfi.com/mcpChatGPT
- Open Settings, then Apps, and turn on Developer mode under Advanced settings.
- Back in Apps, choose Create.
- Name it OptimistFi, paste the URL, choose no authentication and save.
Developer mode is a beta on the web for paid plans.
Perplexity
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Custom connector.
- Name it OptimistFi, paste the URL, choose Streamable HTTP and no authentication.
- In a new conversation, turn it on from the tools menu under the prompt.
Custom connectors are on Perplexity Pro and above.
Cursor
Or add it to ~/.cursor/mcp.json:
{
"mcpServers": {
"optimistfi": {
"url": "https://mcp.optimistfi.com/mcp"
}
}
}VS Code
From a terminal:
code --add-mcp '{"name":"optimistfi","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.optimistfi.com/mcp"}'Or add it to a workspace's .vscode/mcp.json:
{
"servers": {
"optimistfi": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.optimistfi.com/mcp"
}
}
}Other clients
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP takes the URL as it is. A client that only runs local servers can reach it through mcp-remote:
{
"mcpServers": {
"optimistfi": {
"command": "npx",
"args": [
"-y",
"mcp-remote",
"https://mcp.optimistfi.com/mcp"
]
}
}
}To call the server from your own code instead, see the Quickstart.
